Squaw - Alpine Gondola

Squaw Valley Ski Holdings formally submitted an application to Placer County and the Tahoe National Forest for the proposed gondola connecting the Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows ski areas. The proposed alignment would extend from Squaw to Alpine Meadows with load/unload stations near the top of KT-22 and east of the Buttress. The gondola alignment would cross the White Wolf property and run parallel to the eastern edge of the Granite Chief Wilderness Area. The proposal also includes installation of Gazex exploders for avalanche mitigation.

The Final Environmental Impact Statement/Environmental Impact Report (Final EIS/EIR) for the gondola connecting the Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows base areas has been issued by the US Forest Service and Placer County.
